Day 30  12 x 12 Acrylics on acrylic paper. Twilight Hay Bales. It seems fitting to end with this scene. As the day quietly comes to an end so does this challenge.
Working from my own photos I started off painting floral scenes from my garden and along the trails. Then I became obsessed with taking photos of the old farm nearby and painting hay bales. It certainly is a challenge to paint everyday and I enjoy how paintings evolve.

Day 29 10 x 15 Acrylics on illustration board. As this challenge winds down the colour of the trees and grass is fading too. The red barn was barely visible through the tall grass. Hay Bales & Red Barn.

Day 28  12 x 16  Acrylics on acrylic paper. The small red barn way off in the distance caught my attention today. I used layers of gesso and paint to create a semi abstract scene with atmospheric perspective. Red Barn.

Day 27  12 x 12 Acrylics on acrylic paper. I used layers of paint, washes, and yes a stamp to make this piece. As I turned onto a side road I saw one lonely hay bale appearing through a circle of tree branches. Cameo Appearance.

Day 25 Hay Bale Collage - 12 x 16 Illustration board. I made black & white laser copies of a couple of my paintings and a photo and made a collage. Then I added a sepia wash in some areas. Hay Bale Collage with sepia wash.

Day 22 Hay Bales 4. This is Friday's painting and in my haste I had forgotten to post it.  I am enjoying this series as I find ways to paint the hay bales in perspective to the buildings and landscape. The One That Got Away.

Day 20  12 x 16  Acrylics on acrylic paper. Yep, you guessed it I'm into hay bales. I've strayed a little away from my original theme for this series which was plants in the garden and along the trails. This is my impression of the bales on this lovely little farm down the road.

Day 13  10 x 15 Acrylics on illustration board.  This is my impression of the red vines over the fence but there is still a lot of green. Amazing how things are slowly changing as the temperatures drop.

Day 12    12 x 16  Acrylics on canvas paper. The nasturtiums in the patio planter looked beautiful with back lighting. This painting is similar to Day 2 but different techniques were used today.

Day 11  12 x 12 Acrylics on acrylic paper. This is semi abstract, I used layers of paint and a lot of palette knife. There is a dear little pond in a swampy area near the trail. I just had to add this to the Art Garden. Mini Pond.

Day 10 Acrylics on acrylic paper. I used layers of paint and gesso to create this painting. I tried to show the beauty of the massive vines over the fence. There were small white flowers on the top of the vines. The Vines.

Day 8 12 x 16 Acrylics on acrylic paper. I tried various techniques in this piece: using transparent glazes on the jar, palette knife and washes on the flowers. These were Phlox from the back garden. Flowers in a Jar.

Day 7 12 x 12 Acrylics on acrylic paper. There were assorted darks and lights in the back garden but the beauty though was the Hydrangeas hanging over the rock wall.

Art Garden: Queen Anne's Lace

Day 6 15 x 22 Mixed media collage on illustration board. My fascination with long stemmed weeds is played out in this collage. There are positive and negative mono prints, a lino cut print and various stamps. Queen Anne's Lace.

Day 5  12 x 12  Acrylics on acrylic paper. I saw this field of daisies beside the trail as we walked along. It looked like a cloud of daisies. There were various shades of green and of course all the daises. Cloud of Daises.

Art Garden: Purple Coneflowers

Day 4   12 x 12  Acrylics and permanent black ink on acrylic paper. The purple cone flowers stand so nicely in the back garden.

Art Garden: Elegant Cattails

Day 3 15 x 20  Mixed media on illustration board. The cattails are early this year. They look so elegant waving in the wind beside the pathway. Elegant Cattails.

Day 2: 15 x 22  Acrylics, black ink, mixed media on illustration board. My theme throughout this challenge is to capture the light and flora of the garden and pathways. Always a favorite, 'Nasturtiums'.

Day 1 The Walk jvmclean

Day 1  I am excited to be participating in the 30 Day Challenge once again. I chose to do this scene because I go for the dog walk daily and take photos and gather information for my art. This painting is most appropriate to start off with.
